Step 1: Register For An Upcoming Workshop
Complete your registration online. Once registered, you’ll receive a confirmation email with everything you need to start, including links to create your CDA Council account, information about scholarships and funding options, and a checklist of documents to gather before the workshop.

Step 2: Attend Your Workshop and Build Your Portfolio
At the workshop, you’ll receive a pre-organized binder and hands-on support to complete your CDA portfolio. We’ll guide you through every step, from reflective statements to finalizing your materials.

Step 3: Prepare for Success
Review your portfolio and prep for the Pearson VUE exam and verification visit. With our expert advice and tips, you’ll feel confident and ready.

Step 4: Submit and Celebrate
After completing your portfolio, you’ll submit your CDA application to the Council for Professional Recognition and pay their application fee ($425). You’ll then schedule your CDA Verification Visit and exam with a Professional Development (PD) Specialist of your choice. We’ll provide guidance on what to expect during these final steps to ensure your success!
